This week is international ME/CFS awareness week. So tell all your friends and educate the general population about ME/CFS!! Tell your story, share it round! Spread awareness, [link]
I kind of hate talking about CFS - well, not exactly true, I hate being the one who brings it up, because lots of people give me crap about "using my illness to seek attention", to the point where I feel like deep down that's what I really am doing, or at least people will think that of me... plus it's easier for me to talk about it impersonally, like how I adjust my diet to help me with energy and such than how it actually makes me feel...
But this year I spammed facebook with statuses about exactly what I go through every day to raise some awareness there. Most of the other sufferers I knew were wearing blue ribbons and putting posters up around their school and such, but since the only people I was going to see that day were my family and my doctor, that seemed kinda moot
OMG for awareness week I was in hospital LOL I wanted to parade down the supermarket isles in my wheelchair chanting but yeah, it is very hard to talk about it -______- but the more you talk, the more people hear, the more people you inform and educate <3
The recent cyber bullying attack on me - was exactly that, "she's not sick, she just says that so people feel sorry for her so they buy her crap things" honestly, if they have half a brain, or even a heart! they would at least try to understand the illness,
BUT some people (like those bitch doctors who send us to psych wards) their thoughts and views will never change, so just ignore whoever says you want attention - and please don't believe it!
WE DO want attention, from the medical world for us to believe us!!!!!!!!! Not attention from ignorant @$$ holes hun!!!!
Haha, I can see you doing that I'd chosen to do something with a friend the day before, so I didn't have any energy to do anything on Thursday. So I thought social media would be the way to go
That's so dumb! Even if it was true, you've still gone above to raise awareness for it; if you just wanted people to buy your stuff you would have said you had cancer or something... why choose a disease heaps of people don't even believe is real?
Exactly - there's a difference between raising awareness and attention-seeking in the negative sense..
EXACTLY LOL gosh people are truly stupid sometimes Yeah social media is incredible... I have ALWAYS hated facebook, but I can't deny it is a good tool! I find myself using it more....... it makes me sad LOL
AWW kitten! Oh wow, that would have freaked me out LOL I also hate when you are talking to someone loudly as you are walking along somewhere, and somehow they walk off, and you don't realise they left for ages
Awesome <3 I hope this year, arrogant doctors realise and believe ME/CFS exists it has to end soon Some of my story is here: [link] (personal dark battle with doctors who put me in a psych ward..)
STAY STRONG EVERYONE - THIS YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT ~Sarah Vafidis
